A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a Blog for Affiliate Marketing
Posted by: filetruth-team - 02-07-2019, 02:36 PM - Forum: Marketing - No Replies

A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a Blog for Affiliate Marketing
[Image: good-marketing-strategy-1.jpg]

Creating a blog which one can use for affiliate marketing is a simple way to make money right at home. No specific experience is needed, but there are several rules one should follow to improve the chances of success.

Affiliate Marketing to Make Your Writing More Profitable

Sharing your experiences and thoughts is now easier than ever. You might think that a blog is just a way to tell people about your interests and maybe find new friends that have the same desire for writing as you. However, nowadays blogs are more than just a writing hobby. They have slowly but surely become a way to make money from home without being an expert in the business. You can promote products and services and monetize your writing with a little effort and a lot of passion.

As you may know, affiliate marketing is a way to benefit from promoting brands through your posts, placing links in your texts, and monetizing visitors or customers who are led to the brand you are promoting through your blog.

Does it sound challenging? We can assure you that this is much easier than you think. We’ve prepared an easy guide on how to create your blog and start earning money using just your writing skills and a little bit of marketing knowledge.

Step 1. Defining your target audience and the blog niche

Starting from the very beginning implies thinking through your blogging development direction. The first step is to pick a niche and the people you will address your writing to.

Pick a niche. Think of the things you really like or you know a lot about. It can be anything in the world. The main point of blogging is passion and desire to work on something that brings you joy because these two things are the motivating forces that help you improve. The more effort you put, the more money you can earn.Second, narrow your theme to a topic that will be interesting for you but will also have a lot of opportunities for affiliate programs to sign onto. This is the step where you need to conduct research and find how many competitors there are in the field that you have chosen and what affiliate campaigns are available. Pick a niche in which you have a good amount of perspective and not much competition in terms of other blogs at the same time.Quick tip: You can also give yourself an opportunity to expand your niche by picking several related topics. For example, makeup and hair products, travelling and hiking, vlogging and content creation, etc.

Identify your target audience. After you’ve chosen your niche, it’s time to clarify who your target audience is. This is not an easy thing to do, but a little research will give you an idea about who your readers will be and what information will be useful and valuable for them. The easiest way to do this is to follow the brands you want to get as your affiliate clients on social media and see who their customers or clients are. You can do the same thing with your competitors.Choose an affiliate program. A quick search will give you an opportunity to identify what affiliate programs you can sign for. Contact brands that might be interested in your service through their cooperation managers.

Step 2. Choosing a blogging platform and the domain name

When it comes to starting your blog, it’s important to pick a suitable blogging platform. There are several platforms you can choose from; the most popular are:

WordPress

Joomla

Wix

WordPress is the biggest blogging platform and offers a lot of opportunities and quick setup. It is designed specifically for blogging purposes and has a lot of different features that come in handy while creating your blog from scratch. Some advantages of WordPress are:

Customizable design

Built-in tools to control your blog

SEO-friendly permalinks and mobile-optimized themes

Multiple widgets are available

Joomla is used for creating websites but also includes an extension for blogging purposes. It’s easy to use and has excellent flexibility alongside with convenience and usability. Wix in its turn has drag and drop templates, user-friendly interface, and free hosting.

Make a choice according to your needs and convenience.

A domain name is something you need to carefully think through as it will be the first thing your readers will see. Make it memorable, short, and related to your topic. Use a name that is well-understood when someone pronounces it – this way it is more convenient for people to remember your site when hearing about it in conversation. It will also be useful for a voice search, which has been progressively becoming popular. Pick a few names and discuss it with your friends and family before deciding which one is the best.

After picking your domain name, you should register it. You will see which domains are available and which are already taken.

Step 3. Designing and structuring

The design of your blog has a much more significant influence on your reader than you probably think. It not only presents your theme but also helps you to stand out from the crowd. If it is done correctly, your blog design makes people stay on your site longer and has a pleasing influence on your audience’s attitude towards your content.

Quick tip: Don’t use very vibrant colours, complex fonts, or a coarse background. Pick the colour combinations that will not distract from your content. Choose fonts that are easy to read.

Structuring your blog is also essential to make it organized. Decide what categories you need or what widgets you want to add. Add images or video-clips you think will be useful for your audience.

Step 4. Search Engine Optimization

SEO is one of the most essential things you should learn in order to run a successful affiliate blog. It helps to get more traffic and boost your earnings from affiliate programs.

There are a few tools you can and should use for your optimization, such as:

SEMrush – This software will help you to get insights into your competitors’ strategies in display advertising, organic and paid search, and link building. Also, it provides data on website traffic, backlinks, keywords positions. There are several helpful in-built tools; for example, SEO Content Template gives you ideas to write well-crafted content, optimized for search engines.

Moz – A tool that is created to check your ranking score – links authority and the importance of your site in relations to others. Moz rank for each website depends on the number of backlinks, their value, and the domain authority. Moz scores each website from 0 to 10. The higher the value of backlinks is, the higher the score a site gets. An average score for a website is 3.

Ahrefs – A tool that helps you monitor and analyze your backlinks and their types. It has its own crawler and provides a complete report on all of your backlinks and referring domains. You can check out your competitors’ backlinks too. That way, you’ll get an idea of what websites you can get backlinks from.

Google Trends – A tool that is used to check the level of interest for a prospective keyword and find which keywords are getting more popular. It works the best with Google Keyword Planner. Though they are much alike, there is an essential difference – GT shows the relative popularity, which is the number of particular queries divided by the total number of searches of the same geography and time range.

Google Keyword Planner – A software which is designed to build keyword lists for pay-per-click campaigns. It helps to build ad groups and find new keywords that you can add to your ad campaigns.

Try all of these tools out and decide which ones are the most convenient for you to use.

Step 5. Blog content

Good content is key. Every marketer knows that. In order to earn more from affiliate programs, you need to provide valuable and interesting information. The more users read your posts, the more they will follow affiliate links.

Be honest with your audience. Including affiliate links so that they look good in your text, is real mastery. Be truthful when you speak about products and services, and you will get your audience’s trust. Honest reviews are the key to making your content more credible.

That’s why it’s essential to know a lot about the products you promote. If you have the opportunity, try them yourself.

Be careful while using links and keywords. Don’t clutter your text with keywords as they make it clumsy and rough. You want to make your content unique and easy to understand, that’s why writing skills are very important.

Get help if needed. Some bloggers post a lot and use the help of freelance writers for editing texts to make great content every day. You can find such help on platforms like EssayTigers, Freelancer, UpWork, etc.

When putting affiliate links, remember to follow these tips:

Make words or phrases clickable. Add anchor text – the visible clickable text in a hyperlink – to affiliate links; they look much better than a link itself.

Don’t put too many links – it’s better to add one or two links for a piece of content.

Make links more noticeable, using bold fonts.

Make your links look more neat or professional using link shorteners like Google Shortener, Bitly, etc.

Use sidebars to make links more noticeable. However, you should be attentive to keep them user-friendly and convenient. Too many sidebars distract from content and annoy users.

Use visuals. Don’t forget to add visuals to your content. They help make your posts easier to digest even for boring texts. Using images or videos polishes up your blog and gives it a more interesting look.

Final Thoughts

We believe that everyone can start making money from affiliate blogs right at home. Creating a blog is interesting and exciting; making it a profitable hobby is even better.

Nowadays there are a lot of tools that will help you to start your affiliate marketing blog and run it yourself without struggling.   I need a WHMCS Developer Licence
Posted by: foster - 11-25-2017, 06:45 AM - Forum: WHMCS Question - No Replies

I need a WHMCS Developers Licence for testing purposes on my server, I need it to test out themes and other stuff when I actually buy WHMCS.
I am only going to be running it on localhost mainly because I do not want other people trying to purchase somehow?
Other than that hopefully it is free because I need it free for the moment so I can do this testing, also I'll need the download. [Image: smile.png]

a developers license would be free, but in order to get one, you already need to have a license direct from WHMCS... catch-22 Smile

https://www.whmcs.com/members/index.php/...-live.html

therefore, the only legal way to do what you want would be to purchase a license from WHMCS - although ironically, if you do that, then you won't need to get a developers license. :-P

you could buy & try it for 30 days, and if it's not suitable for your needs, contact WHMCS for a refund.

Can't understand. To test Themes and other stuff, means that you must buy them before. How you'll spend money to buy themes and addons, while you haven't decided yet if you'll use WHMCS or not?

Sadly, WHMCS does not have a monthly addon price for the license fees they only have now. I could see the one off prices when they sold owned licenses, but now it's kind of redundant. Maybe WHMCS could consider changing that too. Since they changed the price.

I know it. I had the owned licens, plus projects, plus license manager, plus mobile apps, plus chat and I sold all of them 2years ago for just $250. And now I'm in monthly plan Sad

If you have a server, surely you can afford a month of WHMCS, no?

why would you get rid of an owned license??

they can have my owned license when they can pry it from my cold dead hands.

Or when they "pull a Kayako" and make renewals so expensive and unpalatable that you have no choice.

And when that happens WHMCS will lose clients. Hundreds if not thousands of them.

Kayako committed self-murder in the process as well. You can't-do that if you release a buggy software, unstable and that has nothing but problems. Almost every company I know that used Kayako in the past is not using them anymore. I wonder why...

I stopped using Kayako (unlimited license) a lot of time before they even announced all those changes. Also, I would never consider a software like as a cloud service. There is way too much sensitive business data on the support system. I'm sure a lot of companies can't even use that for compliance reasons.

install WHMCS on root of domain or subdomain?
Posted by: foster - 11-25-2017, 06:41 AM - Forum: WHMCS Question - No Replies

im quite new to WHMCS, setting up a wbhosting part of my Company, when installing WHMCS is ther anything to Think about wether I install it in a folder under http://www.mydomain.com/xx/WHMCS

or should i use a subdomain as http://www.management.mydomain.com and install it right in the root folder of that?

thank you for your time

Where you install it is up to you. If you intend on using WHMCS as your whole site, use the main domain and root folder. If you intend to build a site around WHMCS, then use a sub-folder or sub-domain.

It all depends on your own business needs.

Thanks Andrew

is ther anything else in general to keep in mind when choosing the structure? my plan is yet to build a site around WHMCS, i dont really have a Picture of how it will wok or look like if i use just WHMCS.

  WHMCS For Free Hosting Services?
Posted by: foster - 11-25-2017, 06:40 AM - Forum: WHMCS Question - No Replies

I would like to offer free hosting on my server and i need some answers-
Can the clients register Subdomains on my main domain?
Can he have the option to choose between His domain, or Subdomain on my domain? How?
I want to disable the option to register a domain, i just need an option for him to use his own domain on the free hosting, or use a subdomain..
Is it possible to offer several domains, so he can choose on which one he want to create his subdomain? how?

Thanks.

Thanks for your interest in WHMCS.

All these options are available to you in the WHMCS software. You can configure which subdomains to offer customers on the orderform on a per-product basis.

If you do not wish to offer domain registration or transfer, the options can be disabled in the General Settings, as can the option to allow customers to use their existing domains: https://docs.whmcs.com/Domains_Tab#Domai...on_Options

  Project Management demo
Posted by: foster - 11-25-2017, 06:36 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

I looked but cannot find one - is there a demo of the Project Management addon found at http://www.whmcs.com/addons/project-management ?
I am looking to purchase an addon to keep track of hour worked on different projects for different customers, but need it to work in an easy manner and will also need to be able to add different tasks to projects such as 'Admin' and 'Development' for which I charge different hourly rates.

A demo of the project management addon can be found here:

http://demo.whmcs.com/admin/addonmodules...management

Ah brilliant - only just see that this has been updated.

I'll take a look as soon as I can find the username and password

I have had a very quick play with the addon, but it don't seem to do what I am looking for.

Is there a similar addon/feature that will let me enter items into an invoice, but instead of generating an invoice for the user when I enter the data, only have it generate at the end of the month?

At the moment, I keep track of time spent working for a client on a spreadsheet and have to copy from the spreadsheet onto a new invoice on the last day of each month.

If I could have WHMCS automatically generate this invoice for me it would save me a lot of time.

I dont want the client to be able to see the invoice, or its contents, until its generated at the end of the month - kind of like the same way a phone bill is generated each month - you cant see the bill until the end of the month, but the network keep track of all calls and costs throughout the month and their system generates the bill automatically.

Due Date

00/00/0000

Client Project

Due 735344 Days Ago

Billable items in whmcs?

Yeah, found a bgug with that also - when I set the due date to empty, because there is no due date, it's an ongoing project, it told me it was due 735344 days ago. Didnt even alert me to say it required a date or not so I dont really to part with that much money for an addon which hasnt been tested fully for things like that - not yet anyway.

I havent ever really used billable items, from the documentation I read on them I never had a use for them - I always just entered items directly into an invoice.

Would billable items do what I want? Because if I remember rightly, they get immediately added to an invoice dont they? So the user would then be able to see the invoice as soon as I add a billable item? I may be wrong though.

No they don't. When you create an item you can choose from the following;

Don't Invoice for Now (and later create an invoice when you want to)

Invoice on Next Cron Run

Add to User's Next Invoice

Invoice as Normal for Due Date

Recur Every X period for Y times

You can also invoice directly from tickets if that is more convenient.

That should work.

How can I have WHMCS automatically create in invoice for a specific client on the last day of each month though since the day will vary between 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st.

Or can I make it generate the invoice on the first of the month and have it add all billable items from the previous month to it? Maybe that would be better.

The demo link is no ,onger works, does anyone have an updated link to see a demo of the project management add on in action?

i'm not aware if there is one... when WHMCS took their demo down (last year I think), the only other live WHMCS demo I was aware of is the Softaculous demo - but the admin side hasn't worked for months (and I don't think it includes the Project Management addon anyway).

https://www.softaculous.com/softaculous/demos/WHMCS

I want to see the project management add on though and I'm assuming the Softaculous demo won't have any add-ons active and there isn't a trial version

I can confirm that the 30 day money-back guarantee applies to the project management addon too.

All the information we have on the addon is located at:

https://docs.whmcs.com/Project_Management
https://marketplace.whmcs.com/product/26
https://www.whmcs.com/project-management/
If you have any specific questions about functionality, please don't hesitate to ask.

What's match string and whois information? Please help.

Thanks!

https://www.pk-domain.com/pk-domain-sear...whois.json

You will find the code and path from above link to integrate .pk in your whmcs, once after doing that, add a .pk extension in your whmcs admin and set the price, i am sure it will work for you.

WHMCS with plesk / whm on 1 licence
Posted by: foster - 11-25-2017, 06:32 AM - Forum: WHMCS Question - No Replies

q=
Hi guys,

We are looking to swap suppliers for our hosting. Our new supplier servers are linux running WHM/cPanel or Plesk.
WHM does not work for us as you cannot limit email mailbox sizes so we are going for plesk with WHMCS.

What i would like to know is, can WHMCS support both Plesk and WHM/cPanel with 1 licence all in 1 WHMCS login area? Our supplier gives us the option for a little extra £ to provide both control panels to customers but i cant seem to find an answer to this anyway and not keen on having to pay for 2 licences per month

ans=
Yes, it can. The server you connect to to provision accounts isn't connected to the license, it's just a matter of if WHMCS supports interacting with it.

http://docs.whmcs.com/Plesk

I know you can limit it at the customer cPanel level but you cant via WHM that I know off? We have a bunch of email only packages sold to customers and cant move onto WHM when you cant limit the mailboxes. Looks like it was requested about 3 years ago as a feature addon and getting some limelight recently but still who knows when it maybe out.
